  28.  Netscape JavaScript Debugger is available on the following operating
  29.  systems: 
  30.        Windows 95/NT
  31.        Macintosh PowerPC
  32.        Solaris 2.4, 2.5, 2.6
  33.        SunOS 4.1.3
  34.        Irix 5.3, 6.2, 6.3
  35.  
  36.  The recommended memory configurations are as follows:
  37.        Windows 95/NT: 16MB 
  38.        Macintosh PPC: 16MB 
  39.        Unix:          64MB

  43.  Installation Requirements
  44.  ====================================================================

  46.  * Before installing Netscape JavaScript Debugger, you must install
  47.    and run Netscape Communicator version 4.02 or later.
  48.  
  49.  * For UNIX users: Before installing Netscape JavaScript Debugger, you
  50.    must set the following environment variables and restart Communicator:
  51.  
  52.    MOZILLA_HOME
  53.    Set to the directory in which Communicator is installed. (You may
  54.    have done this when installing Communicator.)  If you installed
  55.    Communicator in /communicator_installation_directory, you could use
  56.    a call such as:
  57.  
  58.       setenv  MOZILLA_HOME /communicator_installation_directory
  59.  
  60.    LD_LIBRARY_PATH
  61.    Add MOZILLA_HOME to this path. If you already have this variable
  62.    set, you can add MOZILLA_HOME with a call such as the following:
  63.  
  64.       setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH ${LD_LIBRARY_PATH}:${MOZILLA_HOME}
  65.  
  66.    If you do not already have this variable set, you can set it with a
  67.    call such as the following:
  68.  
  69.       setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH ${MOZILLA_HOME}
  70.  
  71.  * IMPORTANT NOTE to Visual JavaScript PR1 users: Due to a CLASSPATH
  72.    conflict, you must uninstall Visual JavaScript PR1 *before*
  73.    starting Netscape JavaScript Debugger. 
  74.  
  75.    If you do not do this, the debugger displays a message box 
  76.    notifying you to uninstall Visual JavaScript PR1, and then quits.
  77.  
  78.    To uninstall an application under Windows 95/NT:
  79.    
  80.    1. Click the Start menu and choose Settings|Control Panel. 
  81.  
  82.    2. Open the Add/Remove Programs control panel and specify Visual 
  83.       JavaScript 1.0 PR1.

  86.  What Gets Installed
  87.  ====================================================================

  89.  Netscape JavaScript Debugger is installed using the SoftUpdate
  90.  mechanism. By default, the debugger files are placed where you
  91.  installed Netscape Communicator. For example, assume you installed
  92.  Communicator for Win95/NT in:
  93.  
  94.        c:\program files\netscape\communicator\program
  95.  
  96.  In this case, the debugger files would be installed in:
  97.  
  98.        c:\program files\netscape\communicator\program\jsdebug
  99.  
  100.  The following files and directories are installed in the jsdebug
  101.  directory or folder:
  102.  
  103.       jsdebugger.html (open this page in Navigator to start the debugger)
  104.       jsdeb11.jar 
  105.       sounds\*.au 
  106.       images\*.gif 
  107.       samples\*.*

  110.  What To Do First
  111.  ====================================================================

  113.  The first time you run the debugger, Navigator displays several
  114.  security dialogs that describe special privileges that the debugger
  115.  requires to run. You *must* grant those privileges in order for the
  116.  debugger to function.
  117.  
  118.  NOTE: To prevent these dialogs from appearing the next time you run 
  119.  the debugger, check the "Remember this decision" box.
  120.  
  121.  For convenience, you should add the Debugger location to your bookmarks,
  122.  or to your personal toolbar in Navigator.
